PretaLab
BLACK WOMEN AS KEY PLAYERS IN TECHNOLOGY
PretaLab was born in 2017, within Olabi, as a direct answer to a question: "Why are there so few Black women in the technology field?" More than just a diagnosis, the initiative emerged as a practical and political proposal to help Black women enter, remain, and stand out in the fields of innovation, science, and digital production. Through training, research, professional networks, and consulting, PretaLab strengthens individual trajectories and structurally impacts the market, promoting gender and racial equity in innovation.

Black and Indigenous women impacted
PretaLab has consolidated itself as a multifaceted platform: a space for training, networking, research, and visibility. It has carried out immersions, curation, research, courses, and lectures. It established connections with other projects and organizations involved in this discussion, encouraged and collaborated with diverse initiatives, traveled the world, and helped technology companies recognize the importance of promoting diversity in their teams.
TECHNOLOGY TRAINING CYCLES
SAIBA MAIS
PretaLab's training programs rely on a proprietary methodology that combines technical content with the development of skills such as self-knowledge, self-management, and soft skills. To date, 15 Technology Training Cycles have been held, with proposals ranging from an introduction to technology for Brazilian women wishing to enter this universe, to advanced themes aimed at Black women already working in the tech scene.

In addition to the Technology Training Cycles, PretaLab launched the Aprofunda fellowship program. It is an immersion journey that combines training, care, and strategy to strengthen the trajectories of Black women in technology. In its first edition, held in 2024, ten women from different regions of Brazil participated in a six-month path, accompanied by a multidisciplinary team dedicated to their technical and personal development. The second edition began in 2025.
